The first phase of the production process is spelt cleaning, which is essential for eliminating dust, residues, and impurities carried from the field.

Omas utilizes DST – Dry Scrubbing Technology, an innovative dry grain scrubbing system that removes impurities without the use of water in the initial stage. This ensures a more sustainable and hygienic process compared to traditional methods. Wetting of the grain occurs later, after dehulling, allowing for greater water absorption.

These tools are ideal for removing dust, chaff, stones, and other impurities. The use of moisture meters also allows for monitoring and maintaining the optimal level for storage and subsequent processing. 

Spelt milling: precision and control with Flexy Mill

Spelt milling is a key phase that determines the particle size, yield, and quality of the resulting flour.

This delicate process can be executed using industrial spelt processing equipment such as roller mills, centrifugal impactors, semolina machines, plansifters, vibrating screens, and regular mills. These instruments allow for obtaining flour of different qualities and granulations, meeting diverse commercial spelt milling requirements. The use of disaggregating machines and filters also ensures the purity of the final product.

The Flexy Mill system by Omas represents the ultimate expression of flexibility and control: it allows for the automatic regulation of the speed and direction of rotation of the rollers, adapting the process to the specific characteristics of the spelt.

Thanks to the Direct Drive System (ODS), the distance between the rollers is adjustable with a precision of up to 0.004 mm, guaranteeing consistent and uniform results.

Furthermore, the Omas Kers System (OKS) technology recovers the kinetic energy generated by the roller mills during processing, transforming it into electricity to power the torque motors, reducing energy consumption by up to 30%. To maintain the integrity of the processed spelt, correct storage and packaging are fundamental. Omas Industries offers solutions with mixing screws, elevators, conveyors, scales, and innovative packaging machines that optimize the discharge and packaging process, ensuring speed and precision.

The SCADA system allows for constant monitoring of the entire processing flow, automatically adjusting quantities and throughput.

The storage silos and hoppers are designed to ensure uniform ventilation and food safety, preventing contamination and guaranteeing the perfect preservation of the spelt.

Spelt packaging: final automation and precision

The final phase of the process is packaging, where the quality of the preceding work must be preserved up to the finished product.

By combining Omas cereal milling machinery with the SCADA system, it is possible to achieve completely integrated management, with total flow control and high product traceability.
