Omas launches the first Flexy Mill in Cameroon for Africa Food Manufacture of Beetle Heritage Holding
The mill produces flour for baking and semolina for pasta production. The new facility, installed in Douala, the country's economic capital, will supply the raw materials needed for two existing pasta production plants in the city.
The project involved the collaboration between Omas, Africa Food Manufacture, Africa Food Distribution, and Beetle Heritage Holding. The company is a rapidly growing Cameroonian player in the food sector, thanks to the well-known brand Broli, appreciated throughout the region. Today, it holds 50% of the Cameroonian market with a wide range of pasta products, establishing itself as one of the main local producers. In January 2024, the Flexy mill was successfully commissioned — the first in Cameroon capable of producing both fine flour for baking and durum semolina for pasta production. Omas developed a Green Field turn-key project, managing the complete design and installation of the plant — from raw material reception and storage to the delivery of finished products for the pasta production lines.
The new facility was built in accordance with the strictest hygiene standards for food production, using a reinforced concrete and steel structure with insulated sandwich panels to ensure maximum energy efficiency and food safety. The Flexy mill, installed in Douala, is a highly innovative solution with unique features that make it unlike any other plant. The main technologies used include:
DST (Dry Scrubbing Technology) – Improves wheat hydration and ensures superior cleaning, reducing processing times
Galileo Plansifter – Aluminum frame and insulated panels to ensure maximum hygiene and efficiency
KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) – Recovers energy dissipated by roller mills, reducing energy consumption by 30%, saving up to 15 kWh per ton of wheat milled
No transmission belts – Less maintenance, reduced risk, and greater plant reliability
Optimized design – A structural concept that is 20% more cost-efficient than traditional plants, allowing faster installation and easier maintenance
Industry 4.0 – Advanced software for remote monitoring and process optimization
