The annual IAOM conference, which took place in Atlanta, Georgia from 10 - 12 April, was an excellent platform for Omas to exhibit, inform, and exchange experiences.
The presentation of Torque technology to the IAOM Technical Committee, was met with great interest: Tim Carrol, Senior Director for Milling of the Grain Craft Group, presented the Omas-Bratney partnership for the North American market, to all of the technical referents from the major milling groups in North America, demonstrating the initial results from recently installed roller mill rooms.
On this occasion too, Omas showed its credentials as a cutting-edge, vanguard company, thanks to the potential of the Leonardo roller mill, now considered as the “State-of-the-Art Technology” throughout the USA. The Dante vertical cleaner was also met with great interest, thanks to its potential for use with soft wheat.
The first actual trade fair day, Wednesday 11 April opened on a high for Omas, with visits from the USA’s major milling groups, including Seaboard, Miller Milling Co., Italgrani USA, Grain Craft, General Mills, and ADM. These North American giants were also joined by Ardent Mills, Bay State Milling and Wilkins Rogers.
Two important visits marked the closure of the event: Star of the West Milling and Kansas State University, which asked for teaching materials to present to their students, giving Omas another reason to be proud of its business and ready to face new challenges.
Technology, new applications, the future, and energy efficiency: these are the main themes dealt with by Omas during the fair, allowing the company to show how the milling world is shifting away from traditional mechanics towards power electronics, with particular focus on the impact of an energy-efficient milling plant in terms of reduced energy and maintenance costs.
